Week 10
Week 10 is in the books. This semester is flying by. I've been so busy but I'm glad I decided to take a couple classes this semester. Without this time that forces me to sit down, I wouldn't take a break all day. This has been a blessing in disguise - I actually look forward to doing my homework so I can sit and take a "break" without feeling guilty.
We had another week of great videos and talks. One of the things I liked most about Taylor Richards video was that he didn't even know where he was ranked in his industry. He was busy running his company and not focused on where he stood among his competitors. He was so surprised to learn that he ranked 11th the first year. This is a testament to drive and commitment to his business. He spends his time invested in it rather than what anyone else is doing.
I also really liked Elder Oaks talk this week - Challenge to become. It reminded me to strive for more than I am and continue to grow and learn and reach new heights. He encouraged us not to settle for being something but to strive to become something. I love this! It bothers me when people say that's just the way I am - I can't change it. The truth is, it can be changed. It may take effort, time and dedication but we can all change for the better as Elder Oaks reminded us so well.
We also finished up our entrepreneur interviews this week. I thought it was interesting to hear from someone who owns their own business - I don't know many people that do. I was able to gain some good insights.
I look forward to the last 4 weeks of class. I know I have much to learn and that this is just a very brief introduction but it has been wonderful and I am looking forward to the new things I will learn in the next few weeks.
To be honest, I am also looking forward to a little break before Fall semester starts!
